Agnieszka Zabawa

"My woods are alive as long as you are in them."

Since childhood, Agnieszka has loved to walk in the forest. As part of the art group, "Moveable Feast," she contributed to a series of large paintings of nature exhibited on trees along a tourist trail on a Polish mountain, and she believes there is a strong relationship between people and trees.

Using mirrors, she created a mural to not only pleasure your eye, but to also create a sense of movement and give you the feeling of being a part of nature.

Agnieszka’s Full ARtist Statement

Since I was a child I have loved to walk in the forest. These walks are deeply relaxing, as well as helpful, in balancing and clearing my mind. The beauty of nature is also my best source of inspiration.

During my studies, I was a part of the artistic group ,“Moveable Feast”. One of our projects was creating huge paintings about nature (the title of our series was, “Forest Dream”) where the final pieces were exhibited on trees along a tourist trail on a Polish mountain.  Trees were also the topic of my exhibition, “TreeStates” where I presented black and white photographs and collages showing human hands and trees joined together.

This time I would like to take a step forward and invite you for a walk in my Enchanted Forest. I created this mural not only to be pleasing to your eyes, but also to give you the feeling of being part of nature. Using mirrors , blended into trees, I wanted to create the feeling of movement.  My woods are alive as long as you are in them.

I believe that there is a strong relationship between people and trees. According to the latest scientific studies plants have a social network, family structure and can communicate through the air, using pheromones and other signals. We have more in common with trees than we think, so please join me in my Enchanted Forest.
