Sam Fisher
Watercolor Forest
Born and raised in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, Fisher practices Queer Appalachian Mysticism through their art. Â
Fisher is driven by a curiosity for the kinetic behaviors of organic and mineral pigments within wet washes. They focus on manipulating these behaviors such that they render desired natural forms. These forms are brought together to convey relationships between the human spirit and nature within Fisher’s compositions.Â
Pushing the boundaries of what is possible with watercolor, Fisher has created some of the world’s largest watercolor paintings and substrates, as well as a unique, three-dimensional, immersive watercolor installation at IX Art Park’s: The Looking Glass.Â
Fisher is a juried member of McGuffey Arts Center and recipient of the CACF 2022 Director’s Choice Award.Â
Fisher has designed many book covers, custom illustrations, and offers one-on-one lessons and mystically-oriented commissions.Â
